NBR is a copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene, designed specifically for resistance to oils,
fuels, and chemicals. The acrylonitrile content can be adjusted to tailor performance—higher
content improves chemical resistance but reduces flexibility. NBR offers excellent sealing
properties, making it ideal for applications involving hydrocarbons.
It is widely used in automotive seals, gaskets, fuel hoses, O-rings, and industrial gloves.
Industries such as oil & gas, automotive, and manufacturing depend on NBR for its ability to
maintain integrity in contact with aggressive fluids. However, it has moderate resistance to
weathering and ozone, so it is often used indoors or protected environments.
